Ubuntu Lifeguards Services is a professional lifeguard company, with two members, Hilgard Muller and Shadrack Mkhze. Both are actively  involved and devoted to lifesaving and surf rescue.

Ubuntu Lifeguards currently mans 14 beached including Port-Edward, TO Strand, Kidds Beach, Glenmore, Trafalgar, Southbroom, Ramsgate Ski-boat Bay, Port-Shepstone tidal pool and slide pool, Umtentweni, Sunwich Port, South Port, Umzumbe and Banana Beach.

Ubuntu Lifeguards only supplies lifeguards on weekends, public holidays and school holidays to the above beaches. It is on duty from 07:00 to 17:00 and, during the December season, from 07:00 to 18:00. 

Ubuntu Lifeguards only uses local lifeguards with a valid Surf Proficiency Award (SPA) or a Lifeguard Award (LA) on its manned beaches, and a Junior Lifeguard Award (JLA) to man the lagoons.

Ubuntu Lifeguards Services also mans the control tower at Sonny Evans Small Harbour at Shelly Beach, on weekends and public holidays. Hilgard Muller is a Marine Safety Officer and sees to it that all boats comply with the National Safety Regulations from SAMSA.
